Professional chemical peels at GlowCo Wellness in Gilbert, AZ

The Basics

What Is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a professional skin treatment that uses a customized blend of acids and active ingredients to exfoliate the surface of your skin and signal your body to renew it. The result is smoother texture, more even tone, and a brighter, healthier-looking complexion.

Peels are not one-size-fits-all. Some are gentle enough for sensitive skin and event prep. Others go deeper to address stubborn pigment, scarring, or signs of aging. At GlowCo, your provider matches the formula and strength to your skin type, your goals, and downtime tolerance — as part of our aesthetics services at our Gilbert location.

The Peel Menu

Grouped by type, so it’s easy to see where you fit. Tap a category to explore each peel.

NoPeel Peel

PCA Skin

A professional peel that delivers brightening and texture-smoothing benefits without any visible peeling or downtime. The formula supports cell turnover while keeping the skin barrier intact, which makes it a smart introduction for clients new to peels and a popular pre-event option when you want glow without flaking. Many clients use it as part of an ongoing skincare plan to maintain results between deeper treatments.

Best for: First-time peel clients, event prep, glow maintenance.

Sensi Peel

PCA Skin

A calming, low-intensity peel designed specifically for sensitive or reactive skin, rosacea-prone skin, and darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick I through VI). It combines lactic acid with a low concentration of TCA along with brightening, anti-inflammatory ingredients to refresh tone and clarity without irritating the skin barrier. Effective for refining tone, calming redness, and addressing mild pigment in skin types that don’t tolerate stronger peels well.

Best for: Sensitive or reactive skin, rosacea, darker skin tones.

ILLuminize Peel

SkinMedica

The gentlest peel in SkinMedica’s professional lineup, often called a “lunchtime peel” because most clients return to normal activities immediately. It uses a multi-acid blend (salicylic, mandelic, malic, and phytic acids) along with resorcinol to refresh dull skin and soften the look of early aging in a single treatment. No visible peeling is expected, and the treatment can be repeated every two weeks to build cumulative results.

Best for: Mild dullness, early aging, glow maintenance, first-time peel clients.

Acne Peel

PCA Skin

A salicylic acid-based professional peel designed to penetrate clogged pores, calm inflammation, and clear excess oil. It pairs well with ongoing acne support and helps soften the appearance of post-acne marks over time as cell turnover increases. The pH-balanced formula uses soothing ingredients alongside the active acids, which makes it more tolerable than single-acid peels of similar strength.

Best for: Active breakouts, congested or oily skin, post-acne marks.

Bright & Even Peel

PCA Skin

A brightening blend that targets stubborn pigment, sun damage, and uneven tone. The formula combines gentle exfoliating acids with brightening ingredients like niacinamide and vitamin C to support cell turnover and reveal a more even complexion. Most clients see minimal visible peeling, making it a practical option for hyperpigmentation concerns that don’t fit a more aggressive resurfacing plan.

Best for: Sun spots, melasma, post-inflammatory pigmentation, uneven tone.

Alpharet Peel

SkinBetter Science

A professional in-office peel powered by SkinBetter’s patented AlphaRet technology, which fuses a retinoid with lactic acid for retinoid-level resurfacing without the irritation typical of traditional peels. The formula layers in a triple-acid blend of glycolic, lactic, and salicylic acids to smooth texture, refine tone, and brighten skin. Minimal downtime, which makes it a smart choice for sensitive clients or anyone ready for more than a starter peel but not ready for visible flaking.

Best for: Early aging, uneven texture, brightening, sensitive skin ready for resurfacing.

Vitalize Peel

SkinMedica

SkinMedica’s medium-strength corrective peel that targets pigment, fine lines, rough texture, and mild acne scarring. The formula combines lactic, salicylic, and resorcinol acids with retinoic acid to drive deeper resurfacing than starter peels while still being safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types. Expect a few days of visible flaking as the skin renews. Most clients see noticeable results after a single peel, with the strongest improvements building over a series of three to six treatments.

Best for: Stubborn pigment, rough texture, fine lines, mild acne scarring.

The Perfect Derma Peel

The Perfect Derma

A medium-depth professional peel known for pairing a multi-acid resurfacing formula with glutathione, a master antioxidant that supports skin brightening and helps the skin heal evenly. The formula combines TCA, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, kojic acid, vitamin C, and phenol to address stubborn melasma, deep pigment, acne scarring, fine lines, and sun damage. Safe for all skin tones (Fitzpatrick I through VI), and one of the few medium-depth peels with a strong track record on darker complexions. Visible peeling typically lasts 3 to 7 days. Most clients see the strongest results after a series of two to three treatments spaced about four weeks apart.

Best for: Melasma, stubborn pigment, acne scars, visible aging, all skin tones.

FactorFive RDS Peel

FactorFive

A regenerative two-step peel that combines TCA-based exfoliation with a layer of human stem cell-derived growth factors. The first step (RDS1) resurfaces the skin. The second step (RDS2) delivers concentrated growth factors and proteins designed to support collagen production, calm post-treatment inflammation, and accelerate cellular renewal. The result is meaningful resurfacing without the visible flaking typical of TCA peels. Most clients see continued improvements in tone, texture, pore size, and fine lines over the week following treatment.

Best for: Anti-aging, dullness, pore refinement, fine lines, clients who want resurfacing without visible peeling.

Chemical Peel FAQs

Peels aren’t one-size-fits-all, which is exactly why we offer complimentary consultations. Your provider assesses your skin concern, skin type, downtime tolerance, and goals, then recommends the peel (or series) that fits.

Gentle peels usually have no real downtime. Medium-depth peels like The Perfect Derma Peel can involve 3 to 7 days of visible peeling and sensitivity. We always recommend keeping your skin out of direct sun for at least a week after any peel, and wearing SPF daily.

Yes. We carry peels specifically designed for reactive or sensitive skin, including the Sensi Peel and the NoPeel Peel. We’ll always match the formula and strength to what your skin can handle.

Sometimes these are paired within a treatment plan, though they’re often scheduled separately since they work through different mechanisms. Your provider will map out timing so your treatments support each other instead of overwhelming your skin.

It depends on the peel. The NoPeel Peel, Sensi Peel, ILLuminize Peel, and Alpharet Peel typically don’t cause visible flaking. The Vitalize Peel, Perfect Derma Peel, and FactorFive RDS Peel can produce visible peeling for a few days as your skin renews. Your provider will tell you what to expect before treatment so there are no surprises.

Yes. Several of our peels, like ILLuminize, NoPeel, and Sensi, are designed for little to no visible peeling, so you can brighten and smooth without obvious flaking.

It varies by peel and by concern. Some goals are best supported by a series, others by occasional maintenance. Your provider will guide the right cadence for your skin.

Absolutely. Our minimal-downtime peels are popular for event prep. Just give us a little lead time so your provider can choose the right option and timing.
